"Life of Jerome in Battle"

I consider him as a best friend. He was our class valedictorian in our elementary years. He was so smart that is why i look up to him. This man, full of courage is doing all his best in school for someday their family will experience life happily without worrying what they will eat in every day of their lives.

Remembering those days when they don't have anything to eat. This friend of mine goes to school with empty stomach. Lucky for him that we have have a garden at the back of our room which we planted ourselves. Those are eggplants and "petchay".He goes home with this vegetable just for them to have a lunch. He really experience hard at his early age. But he did not let poverty discourage him. Earning good grades and excellence in the field of learning.He tops in our school that time. "Where will i go after graduating elementary?"is what he said to me during our practice for the commencement exercise because we are graduating students already.

Looking at his face when he heard that he passed the scholarship exam for highschool at Cebu city is an amazing scene for me. After graduation, i only heard about him when he got home in our place from cebu and was shocked that his a new man. He teaches Godly lessons but he is not a teacher. It was just an activity from his school to thought students from the elementary school we,ve graduated.Very happy to see him doing those things, I asked him so many questions on th e changes that happened in his life. Good to know that he is still the friend who is humble and kind,Jerome and I were third year high school students at this certain time.

The smart man was even more happy when he got his scholarship for college because iof his excellence. As his friend, I am proud and very happy for him because I know his one step closer to his dream.

I hope that you were inspired of Jerome's story.I chose his story because i know I can tell everything because I know this man a lot.I can't forget what he said in vinacular language"Ang tawo maski dili bright og dato basta maningkamot lang, mu-asenso gyud".So let us all aim high and achieve success.
